Local Golf Clubs

Golf is one of the most popular outdoor activities in and around Falmouth. The fabulous coastal settings of some of the local clubs coupled with fresh, local cuisine combine to make Falmouth and Cornwall a superb golfing destination. Whether you’re a serious angler, seasonal enthusiast or just fancy giving it a go, as outdoor activities go, fishing has a lot to offer in Falmouth due to it being one of the best coastal spots for fishing in the UK. The sheer range of habitats in such close proximity – rocky and sandy shoreline, cove, creek, river, reef and wreck give rise to an impressive variety of species that can be easily accessed by boat or on foot. Local Walks

Walking is another of the most popular outdoor activities in and around Falmouth because of the South West Coastal Path which passes through Falmouth. On offer are gentle beachside strolls to longer creekside and cliff walks, walkers of all ages and abilities will find something to suit in Falmouth. There are a plethora of trails covering coastal paths, bridleways, quiet lanes as well as the South West Coastal Path, which runs right through Falmouth. A short drive or ferry ride can get you walking trails around the Roseland Peninsula and St Mawes. If you fancy a lakeside walk you could try Swanpool which has good views at the northern and southern sides. Cornwall is the envy of the British birdwatching community for the countless unexpected species that turn up each year in spring and autumn, migrants blown off course or overshooting their target. Falmouth and the local area has various sites which offer good opportunities to spot a wide variety of birds, Gulls, Grebes, Guillemots, Mallards and Reed Warblers to name a few.
